NCC/Scout & Guides
The Bharat Scouts and Guides (BS&G) is a voluntary, non-political, and educational movement for young people in Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS). The movement is open to all students, regardless of race, creed, or origin, and is based on the principles and methods established by Lord Baden Powell in 1907. The BS&G’s motto is “Be Prepared” and encourages students to be physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight. The movement also aims to create a sense of universal brotherhood and sisterhood among students.
The BS&G offers students opportunities to explore the world beyond the classroom and dedicate themselves to serving humanity. The movement organizes rallies and festivals for students in grades 3–5 to promote compassion, benevolence, and a sense of universal brotherhood. Students in grades 3–10 are encouraged to enroll in the BS&G and some awards are available to participants, including the Golden Arrow for Cubs and Bulbuls and the Rashtrapati Scout/Guide Award for Scouts and Guides.
